(No one can explain it to you if you don't.) That being said I came to this blog to see if any other angry vegans had made the connection between VegNews saying they can't afford/find/take/use vegan photos while simultaneously offering a blog that documents their vegan meals WITH PHOTOS.Emilynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-10650039034785805472011-04-15T09:07:58.351-07:002011-04-15T09:07:58.351-07:00@Anonymous,
Because they deceived their readers, ...@Anonymous,

Because they deceived their readers, failed to apologize for it (in fact THEY played the victim) and failed to rectify the situation. At the very least they can apologize and ensure that when we look at something in VegNews, that's it's not dead animal flesh.

And besides, it's not like they publish that many pictures of food in their magazine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-23925483319616011972011-04-15T09:03:41.545-07:002011-04-15T09:03:41.545-07:00I agree with the last 2 comments. And I'll jus...I agree with the last 2 comments. And I'll just say this: so what if they're using real photos of meat? Who cares? Yes, I'm serious. Are you being forced to eat said meat? No. Are you being forced to watch the animals get slaughtered? No. Then calm down and enjoy the fact that VegNews is promoting vegan recipes. They're still promoting them! Their entire magazine is centered around Veganism, and they are an extremely successful publication. So the fact that they are using stock photos to advertise a vegan recipe really has all of you others (including the comments on QuarryGirl.com) in an uproar? Seriously? Who cares?? You're not being forced to eat it, smell it, taste it, etc. Is VegNews responsible for the killing of these animals that are in the photos? NO. So stop whining and continue to support a publication that is 100% Vegan. There are SO many other things in this world that are more important than a stock photo. Sigh. End rant.Lindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16653349221807700471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-78047842884512410492011-04-14T20:55:34.774-07:002011-04-14T20:55:34.774-07:00Why try to tear down one of the so few successful ...Why try to tear down one of the so few successful vegan outlets for ourselves and others over this?

My wife is involved in PR and knows this is an extremely common practice by several magazine companies. I can imagine there are few resources for magazine-quality pics of all their vegan recipes posted.

I agree I’ll have my doubts now whenever looking at their photos for now on, and hopefully as a result of all this they will make an extra effort to change their practices. But to demonize VegNews or feel betrayed by them seems like a stretch considering all the good they have done for the vegan community. This is the only veg magazine I can recall seeing in any typical bookstore, imagine the damage that would be done to a budding vegan culture after we are done tearing VegNews apart.

I wish people got this worked up over things that actually pertained to the suffering of animals, not the opposite!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-26009346894177706622011-04-14T20:27:35.915-07:002011-04-14T20:27:35.915-07:00I was about to say. I recently renewed my subscription for 3 years & will keep it for now, but I don't think I'll ever love your magazine again.Jen.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12846471762480579185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-63376691045689401262011-04-14T14:29:26.258-07:002011-04-14T14:29:26.258-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Jen.https://www.blogger.com/profile/12846471762480579185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-65873592024948931562011-04-14T11:18:25.239-07:002011-04-14T11:18:25.239-07:00I am really dissapointed to know that you use phot...I am really dissapointed to know that you use photos of MEAT!!!!!!Youre silence on the issue says it all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6679885512066013049.post-58536650093078730012011-04-14T09:10:56.977-07:002011-04-14T09:10:56.977-07:00Can we trust you?
